Concrete Calculators

Concrete is ordered by the cubic yard and paid for by the truckload, so small measurement errors get expensive fast. These calculators convert your slab, footing, or project dimensions into exact cubic yards — and, when you need it, into the number of pre-mix bags to buy at the store. Every result states its assumed waste factor, so the number you order matches the number you pour.

Concrete FAQs

A standard mixer truck carries about 10 cubic yards, though most suppliers charge a short-load fee below roughly 4–5 yards. For pours under about 2 cubic yards, pre-mix bags from the store are usually cheaper than a truck.

Forms leak, subgrades are never perfectly level, and wheelbarrows spill. A 5–10% waste factor covers normal losses. Each calculator states its waste assumption so you can compare supplier quotes apples to apples.
